This is I think the most consequential thing I think I found in the muse VM, or at least the thing that would be most worth following up on. there are no other plain string matches I can see for what uses it, I'm looking in the binaries now, but the comment seems to indicate pretty clearly that a) meta uses anthropic's models internally, presumably to develop the thing (the code, comments, and skill text reek of claude), but also b) they use some kind of internal proxy that intercepts and proxies all requests to anthropic's API. the only reason I can think of for doing that would be model distillation.

@jssfr the comment says that in production this disables the proxy, and it makes it seem like it rewrites it vm-wide with e.g. a hosts entry - if they were just proxying the production prompts, then i don't think there would be a flag. it's sort of perplexing, like did they develop the container image from within the container? not sure what it means, but i think if they were just proxying all the muse requests to anthropic that it would be very easy for anthropic to see that, they have published breakdowns of them detecting things that would be on a much smaller scale than muse. so a development-time proxy makes more sense to me, even though i haven't been able to positively confirm the use of this flag anywhere.

YouTube refusing to show ads for the #Musk documentary is a very bad sign. Everybody thinks that when the TV networks and streamers bend the knee, FCC dissidents like Kimmel or Colbert can just put it up on YouTube. That's not going to last. Also YouTube is obviously going to be the last of the big video networks standing when the dust settles. Competition among the billionaires is a joke.
Y'all better start fighting to make #owncast and #peertube matter like yesterday.

Anthropic is seeking shareholder approval for a new corporate structure that would give CEO Dario Amodei and his six fellow co-founders a combined 50.1% of voting power
Modeled on the founder-control setup used by Palantir,
the plan would create a special class of shares for the co-founders, handing them joint voting control over most corporate decisions.
The arrangement would remain in effect only as long as at least three of the seven co-founders hold on to a minimum number of shares, according to the report.
A notable exception to the founders’ control would be the election of board members.
Anthropic’s board has seven seats, one of which is currently empty, the report said.
The company also plans to issue employees a special class of stock that would act as a tie-breaking vote on certain corporate matters, according to the report
